Summertime Reads

Summer is the perfect season to open a book you have not touched in months, or to really buckle down on that New Year’s resolution to read 15 minutes before bed every night.  Whether you are reading on the beach, at the pool, on your porch, or in bed, cuddling up and finding a great read is absolutely a form of self-care that we endorse.  Here are our current favorite reads:

“What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding” by Kristin Newman

Prepare yourself for some travel inspiration!  This book follows the author in her twenties and thirties as she travels the world solo, becomes a sitcom writer in Hollywood, and falls in love around the world.  It is a comedic, light read, and offers a candid look into a life of a woman trying to “figure out life.”  Link to the book HERE.

“You Are A Badass” by Jen Sincero

I love to take the summer to do some much-needed reflecting and self-improvement, and this book provides some equally and hilarious insight.  While this book is considered a light read, it contains 27 easily digestible lessons, all from learning to believe in yourself to creating a life you love to life. Check out this read HERE.

“Vacuum in the Dark” by Jen Beagin

If you are ready for some humor, entertainment, and some dark comedy, check out “Vacuum in The Dark.”  The book follows twenty-six-year-old Mona who moves from Mexico after a hilarious breakup, and becomes a cleaning lady who gets herself into some trouble.  It is an endearing read, and you will fall in love with the characters – I promise.  Check out this book HERE.
